OK folks, it comes down to this. Your position on the rezoning technically does NOT matter. Your council member(s) have little enough influence in any decision set before the planning commission or the city council.
They set the rules of the meetings so that you cannot even voice your opposition. Is this what our government is these days? You saw how Rollin Horton took away the rights of the residents of the Nations Neighborhood. When they made the proposal to recall him, they have been intimidated by city authorities (park police to be precise) to make them leave open space in the park where there was a petition recall sign-up. Rollin Horton (if not George Soros himself or his hired lackys) likely put them up to it and businesses have been afraid to have members of that community set up their sign-up recall petitions because of fear of retribution. It was reported by some that Rollin is out canvassing to see who goes door to door and who signs the petition. This is what our so called elected representatives do now?? Do not tell me you cannot see it for yourselves.
Some of you are willfully denying any of this is actively taking place. Is it really easier to reject reality operating right under your nose? What makes you so comfortable that you and your fellow Nashviilleans are not being properly represented? If you need to have this spelled out, here it is: s o c i a l i s m. You may be needing a refresher on that terminology. Keep doing the easy things of sitting on the side lines, denying the truth, watching the fray of victimization from a very nearby place and hoping you’ll not be negatively affected by the plight of those other less fortunate neighborhoods.
I’m more than offended at a number of our neighbors who stand by and wish to pass the hard work on to others. I don’t know how anyone can not have more compassion for those homeowners who are being directly impacted by what Nashville’s council and planning commission is forcing on our neighborhoods. Why have you turned a blind eye to why this arbitrary plan was conceived in the first place? The high cost of affording a home here was not the fault of developers. They only got in on it when they saw the greed of our politicians relentlessly raising our property taxes and homeowners who didn’t have a sufficient alternative for their retirement. We have had hideous representation for several years now ever plotting the demise of residents control over of how they choose to secure the type of housing and areas they prefer to call home.
This should make every one of us take stock of our position. It should make you wake up and realize what these decision makers are doing to you. They are affecting your rights when they determine their meeting formats so that you don’t get to speak up for yourself. They are silencing your voice because if you are allowed to speak, they refuse to pay attention to your concerns. This is a legitimate take over by our very own leadership. Can you not see it? Every single one of those representatives should be recalled and forbidden to run for office again. Don’t be too tired or too busy or too lazy to do what is necessary to correct this abuse. That is what is happening. They have taken away our very rights. Prove me wrong.
